Some professions acknowledge no public holidays. While the public takes its ease, some sections work hard. Burglars, for instance... Thus, though it is Christmas Day, duty has called Boxer Baker, his sister Beetie, his nephew Rocco, Rocco's girl Lil, and the egregious Eggyboy. This is a family job - but it is no outing. Cunningly, they have taken a lease on an empty shop next to a jewellers. Now they have all day, all night, and all Boxing Day to break their way quietly through. But if time is on their side, nothing much else is, Least of all Jessie Roydon who runs the cafe next door.
As a team they are comically incompetent - and their troubles have hardly yet begun.

Just before Christmas a group of South African artists arrived in London under the leadership of Erik Chisholm, conductor and composer. They are at present giving a festival of South African music in Great Britain. Among them are these two young girls, who have already shown themselves to be a distinguished piano duo in a repertoire ranging from Bach to Benjamin. Tonight they play a varied group of their lightest and most brilliant pieces.
