New series 1/3. Jazz-pop singer/pianist Jamie Cullum celebrates the influential works of jazz pianist, composer and electronic-music pioneer Herbie Hancock. The series showcases the Oscar-winning artist in a recent, exclusive interview, and explores his Blue Note career as a jazz pianist and his pivotal role in the Miles Davis quintet in the 1960s. Plus his maverick work in 70s jazz-funk, his chart-busting industrial and hip-hop/funk experiments in the 1980s (Rockit) and many other aspects of his career. Contributors include guitarist John McLaughlin , who discusses the bond between
Hancock and Miles Davis , exemplified by their 1964 Lincoln Center concert. Plus input from saxophonist Wayne Shorter , singer/ guitarist George Benson and pianist/composer Julian Joseph. Producer Declan McGovern
