Brothers Ron and Russell Mael formed in Los Angeles in 1971, but then in 1974 relocated to England, where they resuscitated the charts with their bombastic and cinematic number two pop hit This Town Ain't Big Enough for the Both of Us. Other hits include Amateur Hour, Beat the Clock and, with Jane Widelin, the 1983 45 Cool Places (their only single to crack the US top 50).
