3/3. Paul Gambaccini profiles veteran singer/songwriter Neil Diamond. This final edition recalls Diamond's output since the late 70s, starting with his kitschy, 1978 US chart-topping duet with Barbra Streisand , You Don't Bring Me Flowers. In 1980 he consolidated that single's slicker aspects by starring in and providing music for a Hollywood remake of The Jazz Singer opposite Laurence Olivier. The project produced three huge radio hits in Love on the Rocks, Hello Again and America, none of which restored his credibility among the music cognoscenti. His latest album, 12 Songs, has proven a different matter altogether, with Diamond enjoying renewed critical and popular success.
3/4. E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt recalls the life and career of singer, trumpeter, swing leader, composer and Las Vegas lounge king Louis Prima, who died in 1978, aged 68.
