John Drummond , who died earlier this month, was one of the foremost figures in the Arts in the UK. As director of the Edinburgh Festival and the BBC Proms, and Controller of Radio 3 he was uncompromising in his pursuit of the highest standards. John Tusa presents a tribute to him that includes contributions from the composer Harrison Birtwistle and from the choreographer Siobhan Davies.

Listen Up! The Return of Ulysses Stephanie Hughes visits the Wales Millennium Centre for Welsh National Opera's stylish new production of Monteverdi's early operatic masterpiece. Penelope longs for her husband Ulysses to return from the Trojan Wars. In his absence, treacherous suitors have tried to convince her Ulysses is dead in order to win her hand in marriage. But, after various trials and tribulations, the mutual fidelity, honesty and integrity that underpin the story win through and husband and wife are reunited.
