Ganelin, Tarasov and Chekasin Jez Nelson presents a concert by Russian trio Vyacheslav Ganelin (piano), Vladimir Chekasin (saxophone) and Vladimir Tarasov (drums) - formerly known as the Ganelin Trio. Their eclectic influences and styles shift between bop, folk tunes and almost martial themes, classical structures and completely free elements. They first came to notice outside the Soviet Union in the 1980s but disbanded in 1987. Recently reformed, they played at the London Jazz Festival in November last year.
