The French violinist
Stephane Grappelli is still touring the world at the age of 86. His work with Django Reinhardt in the 30s gave birth to European hot swing jazz, and in the 70s his recordings with Yehudi Menuhin gave him a whole new audience.
Miles Kington introduces a recording of the concert he gave in the Forum, Bath, two weeks ago, when he was accompanied by Marc Fosset (guitar) and Jean Phillippe Viret (double bass).
