Nod Knowles introduces the first of three programmes of music recorded at the 1992 festival in the Hawth
Theatre, Crawley. It features the 22-piece Dedication Orchestra, which was assembled to pay tribute to the influential South African group the Blue Notes.
They were Johnny Dyani , Mongezi Feza , Chris McGregor ,
Dudu Pakwana , Harry Miller and Louis Moholo.
Tragically, all the members of the group are now dead except drummer Louis Moholo , who plays in the Dedication Orchestra.
