Luciano Berio has worked with three major Italian writers: Italo Calvino (Un re in ascolto), Umberto Eco and Edoardo Sanguineti. With the last of these his close and productive working relationship continues. Recently, the poet (in Genoa) and the composer (in Tuscany) talked about the words and music they have produced together over the past 30 years, providing some penetrating insights into each other's very different creative personalities.
