The Distinguished Thing by NIGEL GEARING with and An art lecturer tries to come to terms with the suicide of his girlfriend. It is only since her death that he has begun to realise just how special Julie was and how inadequately he behaved in their relationship. In an attempt to cure his emotional paralysis and to try and understand why she killed herself, he turns to psycho-analysis.
