This pioneer of the xylophone and vibraharp in jazz reminisces about his early days. including his period with the Paul Whiteman Orchestra , his friendship with Bix Beiderbecke and the band he began leading in the 1930s. He recalls how the Benny Goodman Trio first came together at a party given by himself and his wife. the singer Mildred Bailey. Over the years
Norvo has recorded with musicians as diverse as Teddy Wilson and Charlie Parker and he still tours the world, mostly partnered now by the guitarist Tal Fariow.
