When there's a coup in a foreign state, the staff of the BBC's Monitoring Service at Cavcrsham are among the first to hear about it. But they also hear many less dramatic but fascinating stories, and witness the subtle differences between a country's domestic broadcasts and overseas output. These programmes are based entirely on this material. They will include verbatim extracts of the ' raw material ' of the news, showing the way other countries see themselves through the eyes of their own broad- . casting networks and. news agencies.
