Bolton-born Thomas Pitfield has many sides to his talent-composer, poet. artist and designer. His output includes vocal, choral, chamber, orchestral and stage works. Pitfield spent more than 25 years on the staff of the Royal Manchester College of Music, where his pupils included David Ellis and John McCabe.
