Malcolm Bradbury , author of Eating People is Wrong, Stepping Westward, articles for Punch, revue material and several critical works, sets his first radio play in a ranch-house in Massachusetts. Glenn and Cathy entertain an English couple, Richard and Lila. Cathy does not look forward to the event (' You know English people don'talk') but is determined to play the familiar social game.
