This week the Going Places team treks to the north-west coast of America to examine - among other things - the gestation period of an elephant. This particular jumbo takes 18 months to create and is one of the Boeing family of passenger aircraft built in the beautiful scenery of Washington State.
Clive Jacobs and the team visit the family home, delve into the archives and ask after the children in this portrait of the world's largest civil aircraft company.

The Amadeus Quartet
'Normally a quartet, being a sealed unit, focus their interpretation to a central point and the audience listen in. But the Amadeus Quartet create their music in a great centre of musicianship and throw it out in an extrovert way. So the audience are not listening in, but having the music thrown around them.'
In April this year,
Peter Schidlof , Norbet Brainin , Siegmund Nissel and Martin Lovett were joined by the cellist Robert Cohen to record Schubert's String Quintet.
Tragically, it was to be the quartet's last recording, as Peter Schidlof died in August. After the sessions the five musicians talked to
Christopher Cook about
Schubert, their playing, and themselves.
