The Radio 4 Generation
'We don't really understand Northern Ireland - what's really happening out there?'
'No one bothers to explain Belfast anymore - what's ordinary life like? Why can t we find out for ourselves?'
The Radio 4 Generation were all first time voters at the last election. Radio 4 is following the progress of these 200 young People over the coming decade. When the 'troubles' in Northern Ireland began most of them were preschool toddlers.
When they first met in June, most were curious about the Province. Now they're in Belfast to find out for themselves and to exchange perceptions with their counterparts from the Six Counties.

A Revolution without Shots In the 70 years since the Bolsheviks came to power, there has been little challenge to the dominant role of the Communist Party. Those who did challenge it faced jail, exile or death. But now many of those formerly underground voices are speaking openly. The debate is not only about more meat and less censorship, but, as Bridget Kendall and Gordon Clough find in their last report from the USSR, it amounts to a serious probing of the future role of Lenin's Party in Gorbachev's Soviet Union. Producers BRIDGET KENDALL and VICKY WHITFIELD Editor BRIAN WALKER BBC Manchester
