An introduction to political thought
The first of seven programmes presented by Brian Redhead 1: Plato and Aristotle
'Why should I obey the State?' The history of political thought is the history of attempts over the centuries to answer that question. Each week
BRIAN REDHEAD and his guests discuss some of the wide-ranging replies put forward from ancient Greece to the present day.
Today, Christopher Rowe of the University of Bristol and Peter Nicholson of the University of York introduce the political thought of Plato and Aristotle, perhaps the most famous of all thinkers. Producer CHRISTOPHER STONE
