Last of seven programmes with Geoffrey Stern
Is Peace Possible?
Many still talk as though Second World War were 'the last war' and the period since a 'post-war era'. Yet there have been some 200 wars since
1945 - five of which have been featured in earlier programmes in this series. In this final programme,
GEOFFREY STERN asks what, if anything, we can learn from the study of war that might help us maintain peace, and discusses this and related issues with: Frank Barnaby ,
Professor of Peace Studies at the Free University of Amsterdam
Rosalyn Higgins ,
Professor of International Law at the London School of Economics and Philip Windsor,
Reader in International Studies, also at the LSE. Producer DANIEL SNOWMAN
