In the 30s Damon Runyon writes stories about the Guys and Dolls of Broadway; in the 50s a musical comedy is made of them with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. Robert Cushman tells the story of their collaboration helped by the voices of Abe Burrows , Loesser's wife, Jo Sullivan , the original producers, Vivian Blaine and Stubby Kaye from the original cast, and Joseph L. Mankiewicz who writes and directs the movie. Also Sir Peter Hall director of the National Theatre.
