10: Gottschalk
' Life in the tropics in the midst of a halfcivilised and voluptuous race, cannot be that of a London Cockney, a Parisian idler, or an American Presbyterian. I can well understand why the demi-savages of the Savanna, prefer their own poetic barbarism to our barbarous progress.' with Greg Hicks as Gottschalk

Nicholas Evans , a former miner from the Aberdare Valley in South Wales, didn't start painting until he was almost 70. Now, his pictures of mining scenes and valley life are highly regarded. He is also a committed Christian and preaches in Pentecostal churches all over South
Wales, seeing his art as a way of praising God, as a kind of singing.
