He was really a great comedian, a star of the first magnitude, forever twinkling, (J. B. PRIESTLEY ) Harry Relph was the 16th child of a publican.
Largely self-taught, he made his first public appearance at the age of 12. and from then on fought his way up the music-hall bills as ' Little Tich ', eventually becoming an international celebrity. His most famous turn was a dance he performed in boots which were 28 inches long. By the time he died in 1928, at the age of 60, his name had come into common usage to describe small people as he was only four feet six inches high.
His story is told by Max Wall , with John Hollis as Little Tich. Also taking part are Sir Ralph ilichardson, Sandy Powell ,
Harry Tate Jr ,
Barbara Holt and Mary Powell (his daughter).
