The tea dance almost disappeared with the decline in popularity of ballroom dancing and the emergence of rock and pop in the early 1950s, but recently there has been a demand for its return. Once again it is possible to dance to the music of the ' big band ' and take tea in elegant surroundings such as the Café de Paris.
