A new monthly investigative series
The ' Spy ' who Caught a Cold
In 1973 Stanley Adams flew to Brussels to see the Common Market's anti-trust squad. His mission: to reveal the unlawful trading practice* of his employer, the giant Swiss drugs company, Hoffman-La Roche. For his pains, he was jailed by the Swiss authorities and convicted as a commercial spy. In 1980, after years of legal and financial struggle, and with a young family to care for, Adams has been jailed once again, this time in Italy on bankruptcy charges.
Roger Cook follows this European saga and demands to know why. despite the backing of the EEC, Adams should have cause to regret ' his courageous act ' just seven years ago. Research by SHARON BANOPF Producer

A series of talks for Lent intended both for the individual listener and for discussion in house groups. Christians who have spent a considerable time in another country tell what they have learned and offer their reflections to the Christians of Britain.
3: From Latin America by J. Andrew Kirk , for the past 11 years a teacher of theology in Argentina. Questions for discussion after the programme:
1. Why is it that many Christians believe that a Gospel which does not speak about politics is no Gospel at all?
2. Is traditional ' British reserve ' a part of our culture which conflicts with Christian freedom?
3. When you examine the theological training of your Christian leaders. does the conviction grow that the training is irrelevant to the real needs of the Churches? Introduced by Colin Semper
