In 1973 Stanley Adams flew to Brussels to see the Common Market's anti-trust squad. His mission: to reveal the unlawful trading practice* of his employer, the giant Swiss drugs company, Hoffman-La Roche. For his pains, he was jailed by the Swiss authorities and convicted as a commercial spy. In 1980, after years of legal and financial struggle, and with a young family to care for, Adams has been jailed once again, this time in Italy on bankruptcy charges.
Roger Cook follows this European saga and demands to know why. despite the backing of the EEC, Adams should have cause to regret ' his courageous act ' just seven years ago. Research by SHARON BANOPF Producer
