In 1973 Stanley Adams flew to Brussels to see the Common Market's anti-trust squad. His mission: to reveal the unlawful trading practice* of his employer, the giant Swiss drugs company, Hoffman-La Roche. For his pains, he was jailed by the Swiss authorities and convicted as a commercial spy. In 1980, after years of legal and financial struggle, and with a young family to care for, Adams has been jailed once again, this time in Italy on bankruptcy charges.
