Author Janet Hitchman was a Dr Barnardo's girl: the chairman of the Betting Levy Board, Sir Stanley Raymond, was brought up in the Shaftesbury Homes and the creator of the TV series, "The Avengers", dramatist Philip Levene spent much of his childhood in a Jewish orphanage.
Tonight they talk about their experiences and discuss their findings with Derek Parker.
