Factual: The Nation's Favourite Song Lyric 10.20pm BBC1
Most of us recognise the potency of popular song to encapsulate key moments, moods and events in our lives; but strip away those associations, forget the accompanying music and concentrate on the words. Whether they are from a Rodgers and Hammerstein show tune, a Beatles song or, say, Robbie Williams's Angels, National Poetry Day celebrates the lyrics that touch our collective nerve. The sixth annual festival of verse centres on the poll to find the nation's favourite lyrics, and host Griff Rhys Jones will unveil the results during the course of the programme. (GE)
