Live coverage of the Group B encounter from the Stade Municipal in Toulouse (kick-off at 8pm).
Cameroon reached the quarter-finals in 1990 and came close to knocking out England, but four years later they failed to live up to those standards and endured an embarrassing tournament, which included conceding six goals to Russia. Their squad for France is much changed from 1994 and this year they hope to lead the African challenge. They will need to beat Austria if they are to advance to the next stage as the group is made up of Italy and Chile, who met earlier in the day. A potential star in the making is their young striker Joseph-Desire Job. Born in France of Cameroon parents, Job turned down the chance to play for the French Under-21 side and made his debut for Cameroon in the friendly against England last November.
Austria topped Scotland's qualifying group, but a recent 3-0 friendly defeat by the American team is perhaps a better reflection of their ability. Goal scoring has proved their major problem - they rely heavily on 34-year-old Toni Polster who scored seven times in the qualifying rounds. Midfielder Andreas Herzog is another mainstay of the side and, like Polster, is a veteran of Austria's last World Cup campaign. This is Austria's first finals since and the odds on their winning overall are very slim.
Introduced by Desmond Lynam with Alan Hansen and David Ginola, featuring commentary by John Motson with David Pleat.
