The village is hotly divided over Quigley's plans for Ballykay.

(See today's choices)

Brendan and the badgers are up in arms this week when wide-boy Quigley decides to bulldoze a path through their midst. In a plot that's eerily similar to the "Coronation Street" Red Rec protest, Brendan muster support from some other locals to mount an anti-progress campaign. Quigley's not for shifting, however, despite demonstrating his rarely seen cutsie side when in the presence of his grandson. Father Peter looks in pain for much of this episode as he battles against his less-than-priestly feelings for Assumpta. She, too, is upset and is even contemplating leaving Ballykay. Peter goes further, though, in seeking advice from his old enemy Father Mac. Things are getting serious indeed.
