From Pickering in North Yorkshire, where the exhibits include an original copy of the screenplay from the film Gone with the Wind, a very dangerous 1920s train set which runs on mains electricity, a suite of bedroom furniture worth L20,000 dating from 1885, a watercolour by Carlton Alfred Smith bought for 21 shillings in 1964, and a cup and saucer purporting to be Sevres. A look at how the Ayatollah Khomeini's return to Tehran in 1979 triggered an Islamic fundamentalist revival that spread far beyond Iran. With the overthrow of the Shah, the onward march of western secular values was halted and as the revolution spread to other countries the reintroduction of sharia law brought with it the traditional punishments of the Koran. Throughout the Middle East, Africa and Asia, Islamic fundamentalism sought to provide answers to modern society's stresses and problems.
