The first ever television interview with an IRA agent who has lived to tell the tale.
"Michael" was until recently a member of an IRA cell that murdered soldiers and policemen and bombed the heart out of Belfast. He was also a paid undercover agent for the RUC Special Branch. For four years "Michael" relayed information to his RUC handlers, risking an IRA "trial" and "execution" with a bullet in the head.
The IRA claims to have shot more than 40 agents - or informers - since the conflict began. "Michael" himself was only hours away from execution, but managed to escape. Now, from the safety of another country, "Michael" tells the remarkable story of his double life to John Ware. Producer Nick Catliff
