Ray Davis and his wife Mickey lead an affluent comfortable life in San Francisco. This calm security is shattered when, as they are out celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary, their home is burgled by Scott Muller , a young professional thief with a taste for luxury. While going through the house, Muller steals a glamorous photo of Mickey together with her intimate private diaries, and becomes obsessed with her fantasies and frustrations. He decides that they must meet whatever the cost, and succeeds in tempting her into an affair. A sensual thriller from the team that brought you Top Gun.
