The Frozen Few. Thomas Donaldson is fighting for his right to die, that he may live forever. He is part of the Cryonics Movement in America, whose members wish to be frozen after death. Since a tumour is destroying his brain he wants to be frozen while he is still alive, in the hope that medical science in the future will be able to restore him to life, and treat the now lethal tumour. Joan Bakewell examines people's fears of death and the motivation which drives the frozen few.
