Kingdom of the Crabs Narrated by David Attenborough
Do you have the courage to watch 130 million crabs on the move? The inhabitants of Christmas Island have no option because each year they wake up to find legions of red crabs marching through their gardens.
Situated in the Indian Ocean, south of Java, Christmas
Island is dominated by land crabs of all shapes and sizes. There are robot-like blues, jungle-dwelling hermits, and mighty robbers with claws like wire cutters. But most spectacular of all are the swarming hoards of red crabs which scuttle to the coast to spawn, generating one of the most awesome events in the animal kingdom.

These days television is never far away from contentious social, moral and political controversies.
Network provides a monthly opportunity for viewers themselves to raise such issues. They can put their argument in their own films which will then be pursued in greater depth with the responsible broadcasters and other viewers in the studio. Tonight's programme also features a special report by Craig Charles from Australia. As more and more Australian television appears in this country, Craig has been finding out what Australian viewers think of the television that is exported from Britain.
