Even more television will soon be beamed to us directly by satellites, British and foreign. After decades of regulated broadcasting, television could soon be as freely and as widely used as print. Mrs Thatcher wants to create 'the wired society'. But what will all the new channels carry? Will there be more real choice? And what will the effect be on existing TV?
