The King of Birds... The majestic eagle symbolises power and freedom. That is why the magnificent bald eagle is the USA's national bird. But people have caused the eagle's numbers to dwindle - save in one place, south east Alaska. Here 3,000 pairs nest and raise their young. Later in the year spectacular numbers gather in the Chilkat Valley, attracted by vast runs of spawning salmon.
