3: Silva has failed to conquer Masada in the allotted six months ordered by the Roman Senate. While the rebels have been living in comparative ease in their mountain fortress, the Tenth Legion has suffered a number of disasters and progress on building the assault ramp with slave labour is painfully slow.
But the sinister arrival of Falco, a scheming upstart from Rome, is to herald a new and dreadful reign of terror.
