Christmas is almost here again and on this Thursday, 25 December, we will be celebrating once more. But was that really the date of Christ's birthday in the year 1 AD? And why at this time of the year do we kiss under the mistletoe (apart from pure pleasure, of course) and set brandy aflame on the Christmas pudding? How many carols can you sing by heart? So how much do you know about the merriest season of the year?

Find out tonight when Cliff Michclmore and Magnus Magnusson ask the questions and pit your wits against those of the two teams when Arthur Askey, Susan Hampshire and Basil Brush compete against Tim Rice, Mary O'Hara and Paul Daniels
