At 3.30 this afternoon the Chancellor of the Exchequer presents his second Budget to the House of Commons. Although unemployment and inflation are rising, the Government is convinced that its tight monetary policies are the only way to cure the ills of the British economy.

Finding a hoard of sunken gold is every diver's dream. But finding and recovering treasure from the sea is often a dangerous and expensive task. In the last of this series about the undersea life around our coasts, Duncan Gibbins and underwater explorer Dr Horace Dobbs travel to the Scilly Isles to dive on some of the famous ancient wrecks and meet some of those who make a profession out of wreck-hunting.

The song which will represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in The Hague on 19 April will be chosen from the 12 finalists, who will perform live before an invited audience at the Television Theatre, London.
Juries from 14 regions will vote for the winning song.

' We Made a Technical Mistake ... Up and down the country, hundreds of thousands of people are living in rooms that look filthy; but the black walls aren't dirty, they're alive with mould. And, for much of the year, they are wet.
Condensation in modern council homes is a problem of mammoth proportions. The councils usually blame the tenants; they say it's all due to the way the people live. But now, its becoming clear that the main fault lies at the designers' door. They overlooked simple schoolboy physics - that when warm moist air hits a cold surface, water is produced.
Open Secret visits Manchester, where the bill to put things right on one estate will be well over a million pounds; and a small town in Wales, where a quarter of all their council houses are being demolished because of condensation, only 12 years after they were built.
