The Light-heavyweight
Championship of the World
Mate Parlov (Yugoslavia) the defending champion v
John Conteh (GB) former world champion,
Commentator HARRY CARPENTER
CONTEH, 27, tries to regain the title he won in 1974, and which he never lost in the ring. He defended it successfully three times before being stripped of the Championship in May last year for failing to defend against Argentina's
Miguel Cuello, who took over as champion.
PARLOV, 29, Olympic gold medallist at Munich in 1972 and a former World Amateur Champion, took the title from Cuello with a ninth-round knockout in Milan in January, and now makes his first defence on home territory.

A season of BBC prize-winning artists and shows
A frank account of life on the ocean wave in one of Her Majesty's ships.
1: Last Run Ashore
This documentary serial of ten films, winner of six major prizes, including two British Academy Awards, is a unique record of life in the Royal Navy.
The story begins in the strip clubs of Devonport the night before HMS Ark Royal is due to thread her way out to sea through the trickiest harbour in the land.
The record of her voyage and the men who sail in her is valedictory. For at the end of this year, Britain's largest and only fixed-wing aircraft carrier will sail to the scrapyard.
Superb television. Riveting and revealing ... the Navy, barnacles and all.
(DAILY MAIL)
Outstandingly gripping stuff.
