Ten years ago lions came to the broad acres of the stately home of Longleat in Wiltshire.

Richard Whitmore visits Longleat and sees how it has expanded during those years; he looks at the tigers, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, elephants and the other wildlife that now share the park with the lions, and meets Lord Bath and Jimmy Chipperfield, the two men whose imagination made the safari park idea a practical reality.
