The Penfold PGA Championship

Harry Carpenter reports from Sandwich, Kent, where the legendary Arnold Palmer (USA), who mastered the fearsome links of Royal St George's Golf Club last year, faces an even stronger challenge on this same seaside course over this holiday weekend.

From South Africa: Gary Player, Dale Hayes and Papwa Sewgolum
From Australasia: Graham Marsh, Guy Wolstenholme of Australia, and Bob Charles of New Zealand
From Great Britain: the welcome return to British Championship golf of Tony Jacklin, with Peter Oosterhuis

With all the stars from the European circuit also battling for a total of £50,000 in prize money this event promises to be the most exacting and exciting stroke play Championship, apart from the Open, to be held in Europe this year
