Tony makes three shadow portraits out of one and Sylveste's poor snapshots have to be untaken in the 'backwards' world. Tony Hart, Pat Keysell, Sylveste McCoy and The Prof.

Brendan Foster of Gateshead, Ian Stewart of Birmingham, Ian Thompson of Luton and David Bedford of London: four British athletes who regard anything less than a gold medal in the Montreal Olympics as failure; four men who say that Britain is full of good losers; four men who believe that what we need is good winners.
Although Britain produces some of the greatest distance runners in the world none of them has ever won an Olympic gold medal in the three classic distance events, 5,000 metres, 10,000 metres and Marathon.
Christopher Brasher (himself an Olympic gold medallist) tries to find out why, and to examine the dreams of these four great athletes who have been training through the dark winter to win eold in Montreal, the city of. the 1976 Olympic Games.
