William Conrad stars as private investigator Frank Cannon, a big man who walks alone in a dangerous world: following last Saturday's feature film which introduced Cannon, a new film series beginning tonight

No brakes. A car out of control hurtles down a perilous mountain road. Miraculously, the driver escapes with his life. But this is the third near-fatal accident for vineyard owner Mike Tampa. He is a friendly, happy man who flatly refuses to believe that anyone would want to kill him. Which makes Cannon's job of trying to keep Tampa alive almost impossible...

It is the 1920s and Presidential Election Year in the United States. John P. Wintergreen's chances of being elected to the Presidency are slim, especially as he is unmarried. So a drastic remedy is decided on - a nationwide beauty contest, the winner to marry Wintergreen and become First Lady!
This artful and irreverent comedy about American politics dates from 1931, when it became the first musical show to win a Pulitzer Prize. Specially re-created in the election year, this new television production captures the true flavour of the 20s while still retaining a distinctly topical taste.
