Written by Correlli Barnett
Until the Boer War the British basked in Imperial glory: domination of the seas, worldwide power, peace and progress. But some saw dangerous weaknesses: educational, social and industrial development lagged behind that of Imperial Germany. The British Army and the Royal Navy left much to be desired. Yet by 1918 the German challenge had been defeated.
Narrated by Robert Hardy.

by Oscar Wilde
A Play of the Month presentation starring Coral Browne as Mrs Erlynne, Judy Geeson as Lady Windermere, Liza Goddard as Lady Agatha, Derek Godfrey as Lord Darlington, Charles Gray as Lord Augustus, Ronald Hines as Lord Windermere, Sian Phillips as The Duchess of Berwick, James Villiers as Cecil Graham

A comedy of manners and morals that glitters with epigrams while taking a mighty swipe at the ruthless moral code of Wilde's fellow Victorians.
