The Saturday film starring Tom Tryon, Harve Presnell, Senta Berger, Michael Anderson Jr

In this rousing tale of Cavalry versus Indian during the roaring 70s, the villains of the piece are the high-ranking Cavalry officers - in particular the ambitious General McCabe for whom victory at any price is all important.
Tom Tryon stars as a Cavalry captain with good reason for suspecting that the General's orders will mean death as well as glory for his troopers.
Screenplay was by Sam Peckinpah, director of the recently-released "Straw Dogs" and tough Westerns like "The Wild Bunch" and "The Ballad of Cable Hogue".
