Geoffrey Wheeler tells Stories about Railways

In Britain today most trains are electric or diesel, but there are still a few steam trains running and today's story is about a railway in Wales where you can still ride on one. Other stories this week tell of rocket trains, engines that tried to fly and underground trains that drive themselves, and on Friday there's an adventure story which all happens on the night express to Scotland.

Products - ideas - techniques
Women came out of the kitchen to play a vital role in the British industrial effort during World War I. But if that gave them a glimmer of hope for equality in a man's world, few of them have reached the boardrooms of big industry or commerce. Made in Britain looks at the success of two very unusual women and the contribution they are making to the export drive - one as head of Guided Weapons Simulation and Systems Analysis for a large electronics combine; the other as chief of an international bureau now earning foreign exchange by exporting British secretaries to America.
