Feature films with suspense, danger, excitement.
Starring Richard Widmark, Ida Lupino, Cornel Wilde, Celeste Holm

A Chicago entertainer causes trouble at the roadhouse when she reveals the owner's true nature.
This film saw Richard Widmark breaking away from the underworld roles that made him famous. But with that mean look of his Widmark could hardly switch completely from 'heavy' roles - and in Roadhouse he has a split personality. Co-starring Ida Lupino proved equally adept at comedy or straight roles during her acting career; today she is best known as one of America's leading directors.

The third of a new series of special television debates.

Ludovic Kennedy calls Christopher Mayhew, M.P. to prove this proposition and The Rt. Hon. Jo Grimond, M.P. to disprove it.
Each of them may call any witness he wishes to substantiate his argument and use as evidence any film from the BBC archives. The issue is debated before a panel of thirty lawyers and a specially invited audience.

A year ago this week a cease-fire brought the June war in the Middle East to an uneasy end, but in the twelve months the two sides have scarcely moved an inch towards a settlement.
Christopher Mayhew believes that the Arab point of view is too little understood in Britain.
Jo Grimond believes that the Israeli position is politically and morally justified.
