Andrew Cruickshank is the Vice-President of the Royal Association in Aid of the Deaf and Dumb. The Association was founded in 1840 by a group of London businessmen worried at the lack of care given to the deaf and dumb and the deaf-blind. It now looks after more than 6,000 men and women and young people.
