Three discussions on the future of Higher Education in which the speakers consider the Government's present programme of expansion and criticise the pattern that seems likely to emerge
This discussion centres on the difficulty of determining the roles of the various institutions that have grown up, and the priority that should be accorded to each. The speakers are agreed that the expansion of Higher Education as a whole must be accelerated, but they differ on the degree to which the present hierarchy of Universities, C.A.T.s, Teacher Training Colleges, and the technical colleges constitutes a coherent and acceptable system - or not.
