Henry Swain talks about the special features that make the systems of construction now used by thirteen local authorities in Britain interesting to the outside world.

: second broadcast
Italo Svevo (1861-1928), the Triestine writer who was James Joyce 's friend, has long been acknowledged as one of the great novelists of our century. But until the publication of a volume of his plays two years ago it had not been realised that he was also passionately interested in the theatre. A Husband which Svevo wrote at the turn of the century is a dark comedy of marital love, jealousy, and fidelity.
Maxine Audley and Paul Daneman broadcast by permission of the Directors of the Old Vic Trust
